Designed for introductory to intermediate experienced real estate development professionals, this eight hour course provides students with the analytical theory and practical tools needed to appropriately evaluate the financial feasibility of complex value added and opportunistic real estate investments. This includes speculative land, land development, and commercial and residential rehabilitation and development for all major property types: office, industrial, retail, multi-family and mixed-use. Accounting, risk management, taxation, capital markets and organizational issues influencing the financial viability of these real estate projects will also be considered and discussed.

1. Overview of the Real Estate Capital Markets: Investment Strategies, Return Measurement & Risk
2. Investment Analysis: Value-Added Properties

Jerry Franke is the Chief Executive Officer of Wispark LLC. He has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate in both the public and private sectors and extensive professional and community involvement. Mr. Franke has been a member of NAIOP since 1987 and started the Wisconsin chapter along with Mark Irgens in 2003. He was the chapter President in 2005 and served on the Corporate Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Mr. Franke was also an adjunct professor at Marquette University for the Associates in Commercial Real Estate program.
